I grew up in a home where all of the cakes we ate were home-baked. I have always admired my mother's steadfastness in baking & cooking from scratch, and as far as possible I try to do the same. 

I love the way baking encourages & inspires creativity - even though the art you create through baking does not last longer than the time it takes to eat delicious cakes - there will always be a need for cakes. Over the years, my recipe books have become a bit of a collection, and I love that I have my own little reference library that I can always find inspiration in. 

As far as possible, I share what I bake on here, and tend to share recipes that I have adapted, even if only in a small way, to protect the original baker's copyright.
